Hey all, looking for a couple things - I about have my mind set on a Titan 575 (unless someone can convince me why a 570ss is better).

My local dealer said he can't install a truckmount on a ford older than 2017 due to no available fuel taps. I heard another guy say he could do it with a legend brands fuel adapter in the filler neck. Anyone have experience with this?

Also, I am really hoping to find a refurbished unit in the $15-20k range. I'm not at a point where I can be rolling the dice on a used unit that needs work or blows a heat exchanger in a couple weeks.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? DFW preferred.

Thanks!

Im the one that gave detailed instructions on how to make a fuel tap for older vehicles on tmf. If you can't do it yourself and or find someone youll probably have to resort to using portable outboard motor 6 gallon fuel tanks till you can. Probably illegal as hell, but whata ya do, Buy a new truck ? they can put a man on the moon in the 60s but can't install a fuel tap on a van more than 9 years old??

Haha thanks. I can do it, just not sure who will service it afterwards. I’m not opposed to doing the whole install, I just can’t maneuver a truckmount at home

What's there to service?? Have the machine installed then run the fuel line. Once its there the only time you'll have anything to do with the fuel tap is if or when you change the fuel pump

Does the machine need a return line or just a feed? Because the instructions i gave you was exactly how all the major brands hooked up fuel years ago, although that was back in the time of carbureted engines when only a feed line was required. But if space allows a return line could be installed also

I talked to my supplier about your problem. And he said the kit the used to make for you van installed in the filler neck and a hose went thru the valve that prevents fuel from escaping during a rollover. The kit added anothers rollover flapper valve above the tap to replace the one rendered useless by the fuel hose. Thst flapper valve had to be DOT approved and the company that built it went outa business. He also said that the fuel tap that i previously described may already be built into your fuel pump. If you live outside of California's carb laws your machine may only need to be hooked up to that. He's very knowledgeable in this subject and allowed me to pass on his number so as you can speak to him directly. Ill personal message his name, business and phone number.
