keep hoses from sliding down staircases as well as not leaving heat impressions on carpeted stairs when cleaning a second floor? Does strapping it to a railing work fine or have some of you done damage to paint or wood finish that way?

I have the fancy over priced hooks and still use a bungee. Never marked a wall that I know of. I switched from steel braided to thermoplastic. No more heat marks. And more heat atw.

I always used a Velcro stair hook, but the last few I've purchased had weak Velcro. I got tired of buying substandard hooks, so now, like Marty, I just use a Harbor Freight bungee cord. The manufactures brought them upon themselves by using cheap Chinese Velcro. Matt gets it.
